  Reflex & Sensory Integration

Our Many Senses

They are a gift from God and who benefits from dulling them,

or robbing us of them, ....if we allow this to happen?

Sensory and reflex integration are inseparable, always hand in hand and require our regular attention for necessary maintenance.

This happens in great part through movement.

Healthy movement allows for detoxing, promotes proper flow and aids holistic function, and will always affect positively all connective levels of our personal being and life.

Reflex and sensory abilities effect every person’s functional inward and outward flow alike.

Outward flow and function, with that inward flow and function, are through body language often easily visibly and orally detectable by emotional expressions or behavioral characteristics.

Therefore working on proper reflex and sensory integration at any age or with physical abilities, can be very insightful and positively affect all our relationships alike.

This includes the balanced harmonizing within ourselves, with others and of course also the purest relationships in our life.

“The hearing ear and the seeing eye–the Lord has made both of them.”

Proverbs 20:12 AMPC

What We See Or Hear

These highlight just two of our sensory abilities that affect our Interoceptive Awareness, produces the stimulus within us and especially affecting the optimized functioning of the gut and organs.

Similar in the next verse, we are bombarded with stimulus distractions, and consistent maintenance of reflex and sensory ability is applicably vital for all of us.

Over stimulus causes stress to the nervous system and the dulling of our sensory abilities. With that, it also causes the interruption of our innate holistic healing capabilities.

“A woman [in the crowd] had [suffered from] a hemorrhage for twelve years, and had endured much [suffering] at the hands of many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but instead had become worse. She had heard [reports] about Jesus, and she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His outer robe. For she thought, “If I just touch His clothing, I will get well.” Immediately her flow of blood was dried up; and she felt in her body [and knew without any doubt] that she was healed of her suffering. Immediately Jesus, recognizing in Himself that power had gone out from Him, turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched My clothes?” His disciples said to Him, “You see the crowd pressing in around You [from all sides], and You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” Still He kept looking around to see the woman who had done it. And the woman, though she was afraid and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. Then He said to her, “Daughter, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in Me] has restored you to health; go in peace and be [permanently] healed from your suffering.”

Mark 5:25-34

Think about it, how can someone distinguish who touched their clothing, having so many people around them?

Also, Jesus and the disciples did a lot of walking in between the many highlights of biblical accounts.

Why is that?

Consider that walking is also a rhythmical movement.

The practicing of rhythmical movements according to our abilities, helps us to find continuously better flow and function.

Elevating and challenging our current capabilities in a safe way is important, as it continuously strengthens and smoothes holistic body capabilities alike and these often go beyond what is visible to the eye.

Cortical remapping and with that reorganization, is a continues process throughout our life.

In the end, SelfCare is not so Selfish after all is said and done.

Our primitive infant movement based, or neonatal reflex integration approach, targets specific

neurodevelopment on an individual level.

This can help amongst others to,

  • Mature the Brainstem

  • Boost Brain Connectivity & Potentials

  • Increase Healthy Vagal Function

  • Reduce Stress to Brain / Body / Social-Emotional Environment

  • Elevate Mood

  • Balance Nervous System

  • Improve Parasympathetic Nervous System Function

  • Boost & Support Immunity & Overall Resilience

  • Retrain the Brain

  • Support and Increase Health & Wellbeing

  • Discover and Smooth-out or Resolve, Root-Causes of Disruptive Nervous System Communication

  • Establish Improved Brain-Body Communication Patterns

This type of reflex and sensory integration work, has been successfully applied and brought relief to both children as well as adults.

”In fact it is this multi sensory ability of individual cells that has allowed the development of individual brain cells that can respond to multiple different inputs, all impinging on one neuron.”

Jon Lieff, MD

When the innate movements we educate our client on are applied, they are immediately recognized by the nervous system and most often have a quickly soothing effect.

They are integrative or holistic in nature, as they can mend or rebuild vital aspects of overall holistic body connectivity, flow and function. Movements reflect in great part those during the embryonic stage and through the first year of life.

As part of our richly filled professional toolbox, we also incorporate as needed a large repertoire of specialized techniques.

Your sessions may include;

  • Exploration of Rhythm & Sound Vibration

  • Isometric Pressure

  • Developmental & Sensory Related Work

  • Balancing of the Neurovascular Holding Points

  • Targeted Fine & Large Motor Activities

  • Facial Tapping

  • Developmental and Supplemental Movement Methodologies

  • Self-Awareness

  • Reflex Integration, affecting the Development of Face, Lips, Palate, Tongue & Skull

"Consider that tinnitus is a malfunction of the nerves in the limbic brain.

When nerve pathways are stuck from point A to B and are not well functioning."

Our movements are simple, very effective and are tailored to be suited, for any age or movement ability.

Reflex and sensory integration support is offered in private sessions, schedule here

Historically our reflex and sensory integration approach, roots in great part back to the foundational work of the pioneer and Swedish Movement Training Specialist Kerstin Linde who first applied these movements.

Her work was later adopted and further developed, through Swedish Psychiatrist Dr. Harald Blomberg and also by Australian Developmental Kinesiologist Moira Dempsey.

Supports integration process of retained or underdeveloped infant / primitive or neo-natal reflexes due to,

  • Stress during pregnancy & birth such as induced birth, caesarean, birth trauma, etc.

  • Babies having spent to much time in “bucket seats”/carseats, walkers, swings, bouncers, etc.

  • Being subjected to TV or other electronic devices for long periods at a time, without the ability to move freely

Supports and helps those individuals with reactivated reflexes, due to,

  • Trauma

  • Toxins

  • Injury

  • Chronic Stress

Great for any age or ability! Especially to increase function of individuals with intervention needs in the

following areas,

  • Brain Connectivity

  • Sensory Processing

  • Emotional Maturity

  • Impulse Control

  • Attention

  • Visual Skills

  • Speech and Language Development

  • Physical Strength or Stamina

  • Reflex integration affecting the development of face, lips, palate, tongue and skull.

  • TMJ Pain & Dysfunction

The methodology has been successfully used with individuals impacted by,

  • Parkinson's

  • Recovering from Stroke

  • Asperger's

  • Schizophrenia

  • Bipolar and other Disorders

  • Dyscalculia

  • Dyslexia and other Writing Problems

  • Poor focus

  • Lack of Comprehension or Organization

  • Poor, fine and large Motor Skills

  • PTSD and Anxieties

  • Behavior Problems

  • Stress or Chronic Stress

  • RMD (Rhythmic Movement Disorder)

  • Misophonia, Misokinesia and "Hyper-Mirroring
